Despite its record high property prices and traffic issues, Auckland has been ranked the world’s eighth best city in the latest 2016 liveability rankings released by the Economist Intelligence Unit. Home loan numbers fall ahead of lending restrictions The number of home loans and amount being borrowed has dipped ahead of further lending restrictions, but one mortgage broker says it could be six months before full effects are known.   Jul 31, 2016 A Hamilton tenant has been stung $1850 for tampering with a smoke alarm just weeks after a new rule was passed putting more of the responsibility on them.
